Went to Device Manager and uninstalled all network adapters. HP Wireless Assistant asks what wireless router I'm using and tells me that router is not supported. When I go to the HP website for this model, there are Vista wireless drivers listed but none for XP. There are posts on this site saying to download the XP, not the Vista drivers from HP and install those to fix the light issue. The Wireless light would stay yellow indicating there was NOT a wireless connection, but I could connect using IE.
